The IAEA mission did not assess the facts of shelling of the Zaporozhye NPP

MOSCOW, Sep 2 — PRIME. IAEA experts recorded the facts of shelling at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, but did not give an assessment of the situation, said the head of the region Yevgeny Balitsky.

The IAEA mission, headed by the agency’s director general Rafael Grossi, arrived at the Zaporozhye NPP on Thursday. The head of the delegation of “Rosatom” and employees of the Zaporizhzhya NPP led the delegation of the IAEA through its territory and showed the sections of the station that were damaged during the shelling of Ukrainian troops.

“They recorded all the objects we showed… all the arrivals – they said ‘we don’t give assessments of the military situation’… They recorded the arrivals, they are in the protocols, the hits, we showed them everything. But they don’t report to us what they did. Something They took with them what they would report there – let’s see what the situation will be,” he said.

According to him, the Zaporozhye authorities are particularly interested in the official point of view and position of the IAEA regarding the operation of the nuclear power plant under regular shelling by Ukrainian troops.
