BERLIN, Sep 1 – PRIME. The level of occupancy of gas storage facilities in Germany has exceeded 84%, according to the daily report of the German Federal Network Agency.
It is noted that gas supplies via Nord Stream 1 are currently suspended. At the same time, the injection of gas into the German gas storage facilities continues.
“The overall filling level of gas storage facilities is 84.03%,” the report says. Over the past day, gas storage facilities have replenished by 0.38 percentage points.
Germany’s largest UGS facility, Rehden, previously owned by Gazprom through subsidiaries and containing less than 1% of gas in April, is currently 67.54% full.
The regulator added that despite the fact that wholesale prices for products have decreased, nevertheless, they remain at a very high level.
“Companies and private consumers should prepare for a significant increase in gas prices,” the regulator said.
Nord Stream, the main route for gas supplies from Russia to Europe, has been operating with restrictions since mid-June, and since the end of July, it has been operating at only 20% of its nearly 170 million cubic meters of throughput capacity per day. The Russian side emphasized that the limitation of supplies was due solely to foreign sanctions, which caused problems with the maintenance and repair of Siemens gas pumping units. Only one turbine provides work.
Now the pipeline has been completely stopped due to maintenance for three days, from 04:00 Moscow time on August 31 to 04:00 Moscow time on September 3. This is due to routine maintenance at the only operating gas compressor unit at the Portovaya compressor station Trent 60.
After completion of the work, in the absence of technical malfunctions of the unit, gas transportation will be restored to the level of 33 million cubic meters per day, Gazprom assumes.
