IOTA Foundation has announced that it has joined the LF Edge project created by the Linux Foundation.
LF Edge is an umbrella organization that will create a common framework for hardware and software standards and best practices to support current and future generations of IoT and edge devices.
LF Edge promotes collaboration and innovation across multiple industries, including industrial production, smart cities and governance systems. Energy, transportation, retail, home and building automation, automotive, logistics and health care – all of which will be transformed through the process of edge computing.
The IOTA Foundation will prioritize the integration of its own protocol in EdgeX Foundry, to allow increased interoperability. It also aims to create a bridge between the IOTA protocol and Hyperledger, to develop the permissionless system. To date, Hyperledger has exclusively developed systems based on restricted access, with authorized participants.

The purpose of the collaboration is to allow interoperability and data sharing, for both authorized and permissionless use cases.

said Arpit Joshipura, Managing Director, Networking, Edge and IoT at the Linux Foundation.

The IOTA currency (MIOTA) is currently trading at $ 0.28 with a market cap of more than $ 780 million. The currency can also be traded on Binance.
