PARIS, Sep 30 – PRIME. The National Customs Administration of the Netherlands, which is responsible for issuing licenses for the import and export of goods and services, refused to comment to RIA Novosti on the situation with the issuance of a license by the authorities of the country to the Turkish Stream operator South Stream Transport BV, through which Russian gas is transported through the Black Sea to Turkey and European countries.

Answer given why Turkish Stream’s license was revoked
The operator of the Turkish Stream gas pipeline, Dutch-registered South Stream Transport BV, said on Thursday that new EU sanctions on September 18 led to the early revocation of the company’s export license. However, the company assured that supplies through the pipeline would not be affected, and said that they had already applied for license renewal with the relevant authorities in the Netherlands, as it is important for Europe’s energy security.
“Dutch Customs is unable to comment on individual cases,” Customs spokesman Pieter ten Broeke said in an interview with the agency in response to a question about whether Customs had received an application for an export license renewal.
