PARIS, 31 Aug – PRIME. The energy situation in Europe will be very difficult, Dutch Foreign Minister Wopke Hoekstra said on Wednesday.
“The energy situation will be very, very difficult for us in the future. The task of our governments is to provide our citizens and companies with electricity. It will not be easy, this will require unity, but we are working to make it happen,” he said before the beginning of an informal meeting of EU foreign ministers in Prague.
Earlier, the media reported that a number of city councils in the Netherlands, due to difficulties in finding alternatives to Russian energy carriers, are asking the government to temporarily exempt them from EU sanctions against Russia.
