The prices of the Radeon RX 6000 cards have increased. Gigabyte translated the AMD increase to customers

A few days ago, the world circulated the information that due to price increases at TSMC, AMD was forced to increase the prices of its graphics processors supplied to graphics card manufacturers. Today we learned about this effect, because Gigabyte increased the prices of Radeon RX 6000 cards by up to $ 78.

Gigabyte will raise the prices of the Radeon RX 6000 cards, and it probably won’t be the only company to do so

As a reminder, so far we only knew that AMD raised the prices of GPUs for the Radeon RX 6000 cards by 10%. At that time, it was speculated that they would in practice cost from $ 20 to $ 40, or PLN 85-180 more, and all increases will come into force with the next GPU delivery to partners. We then suggested that they would surely compensate for these increased costs with appropriate increases in final products, and it is indeed happening.

As VideoCardz service on Board Channels forums noted, Gigabyte is to raise the prices of Radeon RX 6000 cards by up to 6%. Recently, it reportedly informed its partners that it was following the AMD price increase and planned to pass the increased production costs onto customers.

As a result, depending on the model, prices will increase by 3% to 6%, except for the flagship Radeon RX 6900 XT, which translates into an increase of $ 16 to $ 31 (PLN 65-125) in the case of Radeon RX 6600/6600 XT cards / 6700 XT, $ 47 (PLN 190) for the Radeon RX 6800 and $ 78 (PLN 320) for the Radeon RX 6800 XT.

At least if we ignore the costs associated with shipping and taxes, which will add their three cents to these increases. It does not seem that companies will fight to reduce the prices of Radeon RX 6000 cards over time.
