WASHINGTON, Sep 28 – PRIME The United States, when assessing the possibility of imposing sanctions against Gazprombank, takes into account the need to preserve the method of payment for energy resources, said Elizabeth Rosenberg, Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Combating the Financing of Terrorism and Crime.
“The price cap implies the ability to make payments for this oil at a reduced price, which means that there must be control channels to continue paying for it,” Rosenberg said at a Senate committee hearing.
She noted that she cannot yet predict whether sanctions will be imposed against Gazprombank, but any possibilities remain.
