There are no problems with the capacity for gas transit through Turkey

ANKARA, 12 Oct – PRIME. There are no problems with the throughput for Russian gas supplies through Turkey, Bilgehan Ozturk, an expert at the Turkish analytical center SETA, said.

Russia and Turkey discussed prospects for cooperation in the gas sector
Russia could move gas transit from Nord Stream to the Black Sea region and Turkey, President Vladimir Putin said earlier Wednesday at the Russian Energy Week forum. Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Fatih Donmez, commenting on this proposal, said that it is technically possible and should be studied in detail.
“Turkey is vital (for Russia – ed.). As in the “deal” with grain, so in the negotiations on the Ukrainian crisis. Russia tends to get help from Turkey and give it a role. It needs countries like Turkey “Putin is trying to break through to energy targets through Turkey. There are no problems with the throughput of gas supplies through Turkey,” Ozturk said on the air of the state television channel TRT Haber.
Russian Energy Week takes place in Moscow from 12 to 14 October. RIA Novosti acts as an information partner of the forum.
