Top 50 Fintech companies published by Forbes Magazine

Forbes magazine has published the new top 50 of Fintech companies, and six of them are based on blockchanin.

The “Blockchain and Bitcoin” category in the Forbes list includes Axoni, Chainalysis, Coinbase, Everledger, MakerDao and Ripple.

The price of Bitcoin has increased from $ 3,400 to $ 10,000 since Forbes released its last top 50 of Fintech companies. It’s no surprise that some of the largest and most innovative crypto companies have retained their position. In this edition, however, new applications have appeared on the blockchain that do not involve any cryptocurrencies.

Blockchain applications

For example, the cryptocurrency investigation and compliance company Chainalysis has generated revenues of $ 8 million over the past year. The company helps government agencies track down criminals who use cryptocurrencies and companies to comply with regulatory requirements.

Another example is the blockchain startup Everledger, which is now tracking 900,000 carats in diamonds on its blockchain. MakerDAO generated $ 10 million in interest on loans using cryptocurrencies as collateral.

Veterans on the list are Axoni, who just launched a new capital swap platform with Goldman Sachs and Citigroup. Coinbase, which focuses on institutional investors and Ripple, whose XRP cryptocurrency is used in 10% of US Moneygram transactions in Mexico.

Compared to last year’s top, several important names have disappeared from the list: Bitfury, Circle and Gemini.
Forbes noted three similarities for the 50 fintech companies included in its list:
