According to new AMD engineering sample tests, the company is already testing the new Renoir "Ryzen 4000" APUs for desktop, based on Zen 2 and with integrated Vega graphics at 7nm.
The processor in question has 8 cores and 16 threads, which is quite a lot for an APU, and it has a base frequency of 3GHz and boost to 4GHz. It was tested on a B550 Taichi, confirming compatibility with the 500 Series motherboards, although according to rumors they would also be compatible with the B450 and X470 motherboards.

According to user _rogame, AMD is not only testing this chip, but it is also preparing another variant with a base frequency of 3.5GHz and a still unknown boost. Both will have a graph with a frequency of 1750MHz, although it was not confirmed how many Stream Processors the graph will have.
These new APUs are expected to be announced in July, and will have 4, 6, and 8-core versions, as we saw on laptops. For now there is nothing officially confirmed by AMD, so we recommend taking this information with tweezers.
