Vivaldi Technologies has officially announced the release of a new version of its super-customizable browser Vivaldi 4.2, in which developers will present users with a number of interesting innovations.
First of all, fans of the browser will be able to appreciate the improved web page translator, which allows you to quickly translate not only entire pages, but also selected text by sentences or individual words. Besides, Vivaldi Translate can translate web pages containing text in different languages. For high-quality translation, the company uses the advanced Lingvanex technology. During the translation process, data is not transferred to third-party resources, since the developers care about the privacy of their users.
Also in the latest version of Vivaldi, there is a new way to share content using QR codes, allowing you to quickly generate links to active pages in the browser. The built-in generator supports several ways to generate QR codes. For example, the user can use the shortcut keys Ctrl + E to invoke the command menu (type QR in the search bar) or use the context menu using the right mouse button and select the option “Create QR code for this page”.
Other interesting innovations include the ability to scroll the icons on the sidebar with the mouse wheel. Previously, this feature was absent and prevented users from quickly accessing the buttons they needed if the sidebar contained a large number of icons that did not fit in the browser window. Also, the new version adds support for the private and ad-free search engine Neeva.
