BAE Systems received $ 26 million under the contract to equip three ships with the Bofors 57 Mk 3. It is a medium caliber multipurpose ship weapon that remains effective against air, surface or ground threats without the need for multiple types of missiles. The system is capable of firing up to 220 rounds per minute with an effective range of over 16 kilometers.
