What Does Telegram Message Check Mean – Message Privacy

One of the greatest advances in messaging platforms is allowing you to know if the sender of your messages have received or seen your messages. Before it was a simpler system but little by little it has been refined to how it is today.

If you did not know the application, you can consult the Telegram Frequently Asked Questions section to learn more about it and possibly answer some general questions you have about this before continuing.

Of course an application as versatile as Telegram has this feature implemented. Here you will learn the meaning of each of the checks that appear in your messages and some tricks on Telegram.

What is the meaning of a single check in Telegram?

A single check on your sent messages means that your message has been sent to Telegram’s servers. The sender may or may not have received the message, however this information will be unknown to you until the sender sees the message in the app.

What does it mean that two cheks appear in my Telegram message?

Two checks on any Telegram message you have sent means that the user has received and viewed the message. Although you will not be able to know when it has done it. Unlike applications like WhatsApp, the check symbol does not change color when viewed.

How can I know who has read the message I send through my Telegram group?

The double check in a message sent to a Telegram group indicates that the message has been received and viewed by at least one member of the group. In addition, previously there was no way to know who or who had seen it.

With the latest app update, now it is possible to know who sees your messages in a Telegram group. It is something very simple to do and the steps will be the following:

You must go to the group where you sent the message and in the chat give a single touch on the screen on the message and then a list will appear of all those who have seen our message.

Groups are also a good place to share created stickers. And also these stickers can be passed from one application to another so gathering them in Telegram will not cause any problem if you want to use them in the WhatsApp app.

Is it possible to hide the view of the messages I receive on Telegram?

There is no way. Once you have seen the message in the sender’s application, the double check will appear indicating that you have already received and viewed the message. That said, there is a way to view the message without immediately double checking the other user’s account.

To prevent the double check from appearing on the other user, the message must be displayed without being connected to the internet so that the servers do not recognize that you have seen the message. Of course as soon as you connect to the internet the application will update and the double check will appear in the sender’s chatHowever, it is currently the best alternative.

While the only way to prevent the other person from knowing that you’ve seen the message is quite annoying, there are other privacy options that Telegram allows to modify.

Manage privacy options

In the Telegram application, click on the icon in the upper left corner and from there go to Settings. Once there you must open Privacy and Security and select Last time online.

Then you can choose who will be able to see your last connection time and know when you are online. The configuration options are quite extensive so it is recommended that you see them for yourself.

Now you will understand perfectly what the check represents in your Telegram chats and to know when someone has read your messages. If you want to increase the level of Privacy of your conversations or be more cautious with the messages you send you can activate the self-destructing messages of Telegram and protect yourself from other users.
