Until now, Valve’s hardware was not compatible with Microsoft’s latest system, which forced them to go exclusively for Windows 10. But now Windows 11 on Steam Deck is completely available after Valve released two new firmware.

However, playing with Windows 11 is still associated with the risk of errors. The two firmware are split into one update on the official distribution channel, which improves the software keyboard performance and adds input calibration. The second, in turn, is available as part of the beta channel and focuses on improving various aspects of the console operation, but most of all it activates support for fTPM, or “TPM module in the processor”.

Until now, installing Windows 11 on Steam Deck “to the left”, although legal, was tantamount to abandoning, among others, updates and 100% support from Microsoft. However, you can not be sure that Windows 11 will flicker on Steam Deck without any problem, because it still does not have, among others, audio driver.
