Will the winning project in the NASA 3D Printed Mars Habitat Contest ever go where it should? Of course, we don’t know, but looking at what Marsh’s Martian habitats have to offer, it would be okay if they stayed “here” on Earth and provided shelter for Earthlings.

The AI ​​SpaceFactory company, which received $ 500,000 in the competition and which is constantly developing its original idea, is responsible for Marsh’s habitats. As we read in the AI ​​SpaceFactory statement on the company’s website:

In space architecture, every design decision is of utmost importance to the success of the mission. The structures must be resistant and the interior layouts must be adapted to the requirements of the mission.

And yet, since sustainable social and mental health is also critical to missions, space habitats must be designed to be rich, useful, and interesting worlds in and of themselves. Marsha, a Martian habitat design by AI SpaceFactory, illustrates that the result can be both visionary and credible, with an alien yet familiar beauty.

This “beauty”, functionality and ingenuity may not be limited to space exploration, however. Marsh habitats in Mars are designed to be built with the use of 3D printers, which is cheaper and safer compared to traditional construction methods.
