Dating sites and apps like Tinder are swarming with fake accounts. And although the profiles are verified by a special algorithm, now Tinder is adding a new form of identity confirmation.
Tinder adds a feature that allows you to verify your identity with an ID card
Dating people you meet online is a lottery. And we are already overlooking the fact that you can find different people, often not suited to us in terms of character. Dating apps are also teeming with fake profiles. Tinder uses a special verification algorithm here, which checks whether the face on the added photos is similar to the one on the selfie made for verification. Thanks to this, it is able to confirm the user’s identity, and after passing the verification, his account is marked with a special blue badge.

now Tinder adds another verification method – with the help of an ID card or other document that proves your identity. It will be available to all users in the coming months. However, don’t worry, it won’t be required to create an account or to use certain features of the app. At least in Poland, because in some countries, such as Japan, it may be required by local law.

Tinder emphasizes that their next step will be to make this authentication method completely secure. After all, it is about very sensitive data.
