SIMFEROPOL, 20 Sep – PRIME. As a result of the shelling by the Ukrainian troops, the infrastructure of the Zaporozhye NPP received a number of damages, the press service of the Energodar administration reports.
The referendum in the Zaporozhye region will be held from 23 to 27 September
Earlier, Ukrainian troops fired at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant with high-explosive fragmentation shells.
“As a result of provocative shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a number of damages to the infrastructure on the territory of the Zaporizhzhya NPP were recorded,” the report says. In particular, the special building, the cooling system, as well as the dining room, where the station workers were at the time of the start of the shelling, were damaged.
At the same time, the administration stressed that none of the station workers and the Russian Guard soldiers guarding the perimeter were injured.
During the special operation, the Russian military took control of the Azov part of the Zaporozhye region and the entire Kherson region, occupying such large cities as Kherson, Melitopol and Berdyansk, and cutting off Ukraine from the Sea of Azov. New administrations have been formed in both regions, Russian TV channels and radio stations are broadcasting, trade and transport links with Crimea are being restored. The regions announced plans to become part of Russia.
