The developers of the Zilliqa blockchain project announced the completion of a large-scale upgrade of the main network to version 5.0.0. The process took about three months.
The update allowed to significantly improve the work with smart contracts and their execution, and also accelerated the flow of transactions in the blockchain. The developers paid special attention to troubleshooting and optimizing the built-in programming language Scilla.
In addition, the reputational mechanism of nodes was updated – now a node performing its function incorrectly can be removed from participation in the network much faster, and the nodes themselves become much faster to synchronize data with each other.
The developers also added several new options to the project API and updated some existing functions. Recall that smart contracts in Scilla were launched on the platform in early June this year.
Currently, the Zilliqa blockchain project, which was previously included in the top 25 projects, occupies 74th place in the CoinMarketCap rating, and the capitalization of the ZIL cryptocurrency is $ 58 million.
