Zotac Geforce GTX 1650 with low profile can be found on the web

In the late summer of 2018, Nvidia’s aging graphics architecture Pascal was finally replaced by the fresh Turing, which was launched by a trio of high-performance cards in the Geforce RTX 2000 series. In connection with this year’s edition of the CES trade fair, the starting shot for Turing went to the lower price and performance classes, and during the spring, the stripped-down Geforce GTX 1600 series was gradually rolled out.

The entry-level model in the Turing family is the Geforce GTX 1650 and, like other Geforce GTX 1600 cards, has dedicated hardware for ray tracing removed. For the Geforce GTX 1650, the memory type GDDR6 has also been ironed out, and the graphics circuit TU117 is instead accompanied by 4 GB of GDDR5 memory.

However, the leaner hardware comes with a TDP value from 75 watts, which means that external power supply and substantial cooling can be skipped. Images representing a compact Geforce GTX 1650 from Zotac are now published via German Computerbase. The manufacturer has previously released the graphics card in Mini ITX size, but the product in the pictures will be the first Turing-based model in low-profile format.

The board is thus narrower than the expansion slots found in full-size chassis, and a panel for mounting in half-height type expansion slots must be included. However, the thickness requires two places regardless of the panel. Judging from the pictures, no extra power supply is required, which indicates that the model probably does not offer clock frequencies above the reference levels, with base and turbo modes of 1,485 and 1,665 MHz, respectively.

This is also in line with the compact radiator solution that follows the format, where two 40 mm fans and an aluminum heat sink are used. The picture connections are three in number and consist of an HDMI, a DVI and a Displayport. Zotac is said to unveil the model during Computex 2019, which kicks off on 28 May. If this is the case, information regarding price and availability will probably be revealed – details that are unclear at the time of writing.
