Zotac Geforce GTX 670 Extreme Edition coming soon

Nvidia’s scaled-down GK104 in the form of the Geforce GTX 670 was received with open arms by the partner manufacturers and already on the launch day, there were around 15 models at Swedish retailers.

Now another Geforce GTX 670 from Zotac is revealed, which will be the big hit in the upcoming Extreme Edition. The new graphics card is based just like the other models on the GK104 with 1,344 CUDA cores and 2 GB of GDDR5 memory on a 256-bit memory bus, but that’s about where the similarities with the reference model end.

The newcomer instead inherits the design from Zotac’s Geforce GTX 680 of the same name. It includes 8 + 3-phase power supply with GaNpowIR MOSFET, tantalum and FPCAP multiphase capacitors and the digital controller section CHiL CHL8318. Finally, the construction is covered by a specially designed radiator with double 92 mm fans.

The manufacturer also takes the opportunity to increase the clock frequencies to 1,100 MHz GPU, 1,200 MHz GPU Boost and 6.6 GHz GDDR5 memory. It can be compared with the reference models 915, 980 and 6.0 GHz respectively. The Zotac Geforce GTX 670 Extreme Edition will be on the market in June. However, some price information is not yet known.
