Cointelegraph conducted a survey among residents of Germany regarding their attitude to the Libra project. As it turned out, most of the respondents do not plan to use the stablecoin developed by Facebook.
The survey involved 2,000 Germans over the age of 16. At the same time, 27% of respondents expressed interest in stablecoin for use as a means of payment at home or for sending abroad. However, 73% of respondents completely deny the possibility of using Libra. The main reason for this attitude, 41% of residents called distrust of Facebook, and 31% said that they trust only state currencies.
Note that people over 35 years old are much worse off towards Libra than younger respondents. Among residents of Germany over 55 years of age, 85% said that it was impossible for them to use the digital currency Libra. At the same time, respondents aged 22 to 34 are best placed in the project – 42% of respondents in this age category indicated that they could use stablecoin.
German authorities have repeatedly opposed the launch of Libra. A blockchain regulation strategy was even developed and adopted, which prohibits the release in the country of parallel corporate currencies on the blockchain. These may include Libra and Gram.
