A big Bitcoin code update is approaching

The developer Peter wuille published a " pull request "For the implementation of Schnorr signatures and of Taproot on the protocol Bitcoin.

Last week, Peter wuille, a famous developer Bitcoin who works at Blockstream, published a pull request ", Or a final code review / validation, for improvement proposals (BIPs) 340, 341 and 342.

These 3 proposals essentially aim to implement the Schnorr signatures, more scalable cryptographic signatures than those currently used by Bitcoin, as well as Taproot, a smart contract system that brings more confidentiality to transactions, especially with the use of the Lightning Network.

The publication of this pull request does not necessarily mean that the BIPs will be implemented but that they have been approved by several Bitcoin developers. They must now be tested and validated by the whole community.
