Microsoft Security Intelligence warned internet users about the existence of a crypto-mining malware present in a wallpaper in the image of Kobe Bryant.
As the whole world mourns the death of the basketball legend Kobe Bryant, on Twitter, Microsoft’s global network of security experts, Microsoft Security Intelligence, wrote that "as expected, cybercriminals are already profiting from the tragedy ”.

We found a malicious HTML file that looks like a Kobe Bryant background and contains a crypto mining script, ”said the multinational’s expert network.
A crypto-mining virus – or crypto-jacking – discreetly undermines Bitcoin or other digital parts, including Monero, using the computing power of third-party computers. It slows down and therefore wears out infected machines more quickly.
Early January, Interpol eradicated more than 15,000 malware of this type present on routers in Asia. According to the latest report from McAfee, malicious cryptocurrency mining advanced significantly in 2019.
