A new super resolution mode coming to AMD Radeon video cards

So much AMD come NVIDIA offer, in combination with their video cards, various techniques that allow you to increase the quality of the images of 3D games without this generating negative repercussions in terms of overall performance.

The approach adopted by AMD involves the use of technology FSR (FidelityFX Super Resolution) while for the NVIDIA GPUs of the GeForce family we find the DLSS (Deep-Learning Super Sampling). Both techniques require specific optimization work so that they can be exploited with the game, thus requiring a great deal of internal work related to the development of the video drivers.

The Intel next generation proposals, which will be equipped with the technology XeSS (Xe SuperSampling), alongside a new proposal that AMD should present shortly and that, according to the rumors anticipated by the site Videocardz, should take the name of AMD Radeon Super Resolution.

The approach taken by this technology should make it possible to achieve immediate applicability with all titles, provided the game comes performed in full-screen rendering mode and that there is a card based on RDNA (Radeon RX 5000) or RDNA2 (Radeon RX 6000) architecture. No specific optimization for the title, therefore, but simply a driver that enables this technology regardless of the application followed.

According to the rumors behind this approach we find that FSR 1.0; AMD is expected to announce it in early 2022, presumably during its presentation organized for CES 2022 in Las Vegas, with drivers available soon.
