Activate Opera’s TURBO to browse ultra fast with less data!
– Take a look at these tips, tricks, and solution you can use to make your life much easier with your devices whenever problems arrive and complications which you may find difficult to deal with.

Opera is a major Internet browser that competes with giant alternatives like Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. It has been on the market for quite some time and its theoretical data saving technology of up to “90%”, previously called “Opera Turbo«, Is used to load web pages faster and download as little data as possible. It is integrated into practically all versions of your browser for Android, it includes the classic Opera and Opera Mini.

According to the company, by activating the data reduction mode “the pages go through the Opera data saver server” before being sent to the Android device. The server “removes unnecessary elements from the page, crops unnoticeable image pixels, assesses connection status, and compresses downloads.” It also indicates that this functionality “never intervenes if it is a secure site, such as a bank or email.”

To activate the data saving of Opera on Android you have to open the browser and touch the big “O” at the bottom right. The Reduce or “Save Data” switch is activated. From that moment on, the web pages will be optimized by the «Turbo»So that they open faster on the Android mobile. As the pages are they shrink previously, the download of data that the cell phone does is lower as well.

Apparently, as noted above, Opera’s data saver is better than Google Chrome’s data compression technology for Android. A higher percentage of compression should obviously consume less data, but also make the pages open faster, although if that is your goal you might want to try a fast browser like Puffin.

You will probably also be interested in reviewing another classic configuration of Opera for Android available in its settings, which allows you to reduce the quality of images on web pages to speed up loading and further reduce mobile data consumption, something vital if you have hired a limited mobile data plan.
