AMD and Nvidia release drivers for VR

After a long wait, both HTC and Oculus are releasing their respective headsets for virtual reality. In connection with the launch, a number of PC titles will also receive support for VR, including the Oculus Rift-exclusive EVE: Valkyrie.

With this, AMD and Nvidia release new drivers where the big news is just support and optimizations for HTC Vive and Oculus Rift. In Nvidia’s case, it’s the new Game Ready driver Geforce 364.72 WHQL which, in addition to supporting VR, also includes improvements for upcoming titles, including Dark Souls 3 and Quantum Break.

For AMD users, the version 16.3.2 of AMD Radeon Software Crimson applies. In addition to VR optimizations, the change log is gossiping about better Crossfire support with Hitman in DirectX 11 mode, as well as various bug fixes.

Nvidia Geforce 364.72 WHQL is available for Windows Vista or later and can be downloaded from the Nvidia Web site. AMD Radeon Software Crimson 16.3.2 works with Windows 7 or later and can be downloaded from the company’s support pages.
