Many Windows users have long since switched from 32 to 64 bits and most gaming computers today have at least 4 GB of primary memory. A large number of AMD graphics cards in the upper segment also have the 4 GB of graphics memory or more, and to fully utilize these, a 64-bit operating system is required.
The next version of AMD’s Radeon drivers seems to have no support at all for 32-bit versions of Windows, something that is not entirely new as the company’s Radeon Duo Pro already lacks that support. Users trying to download 32-bit drivers for the Radeon R9 Fury, R9 300, and R7 300 Series will be sent a support article instead.
Support for 32-bit Windows is not mentioned in the article, but instead it is written about older versions of the operating system and the advantages of 64-bit being able to take full advantage of the graphics cards.
