AMD announces launch of Radeon R9 290X on October 25

The upcoming flagship Radeon R9 290X is being teased and tassled. Although the graphics card was announced as early as September, AMD is keeping quiet about the details, but it does not prevent a battle stream of leaks from covering the knowledge gaps. Now it looks like AMD itself is supplementing with the launch date.

The purchase terms for the Radeon R9 290X game package with Battlefield 4 state that the offer applies to graphics cards purchased during a promotional period that begins on October 25 and ends on March 31. This indicates that the graphics card will be on sale as early as the end of next week.

Radeon R9 290X with Battlefield 4 can be pre-booked at several retailers. So far, only a preliminary price of SEK 9,999 applies. However, AMD has previously said that the graphics card will be positioned against the Geforce GTX 780, which indicates that the pricing does not end up at as high a level as, for example, the GTX Titan.
