AMD announces the Radeon 300 series at E3

There was no graphics card launch from AMD at Computex. Instead, the company chooses to hold the Radeon 300 series for the PC Gaming Show event, which kicks off during the ongoing E3 gaming fair.

First of all, AMD talks about the Radeon R7 series, consisting of two models that will provide sufficient performance in the latest game titles when playing in 1080p. However, AMD talks mostly about popular Esport titles, where the graphics cards can deliver over 100 fps even with increased settings.

Radeon R7 360 is the entry-level model in the new series with a price tag of 109 dollars. This includes 2 GB of GDDR5 memory, a compact form factor and low power consumption, features that will make the graphics card the obvious option for upgrading virtually any system.

For those who need more performance, there is the Radeon R7 370 for 149 dollars and up. Here, AMD is pushing for the graphics card to be available with up to 4 GB GDDR5, which according to the graphics giant makes it a future-proof alternative for 4K UHD gaming.

For those who have ambitions to play in higher resolutions, the Radeon R9 applies, where the Radeon R9 380 assumes the role of entry-level variant. Here too, up to 4 GB of GDDR5 applies and the price tag is 199 dollars or higher, where a higher price probably gives the higher amount of memory and more lavish coolers from the company’s partners.

When it comes to gaming in 4K, more powerful donations are required. Here, AMD unveils the Radeon R9 390 and R9 390X models, both of which have a full 8 GB of GDDR5 as standard. The price for the models is 329 and 429 dollars, respectively, corresponding to approximately 3,400 and 4,400 kronor including VAT.

AMD does not go into depth about the specifications or show any performance figures, but only touches on the benefits of the graphics interfaces DirectX 12 and Vulkan, which are supported by all models. The new Radeon 300 series will be available in stores on Thursday, June 18.
