AMD broadcasts live from Computex 2021

The digital edition of Computex 2021 is up and running, and unlike last year, the support is broad. In “place” are giants such as Intel, AMD and Nvidia, of which Intel has already presented its news and flexed its muscles. At 04:00 on June 1, AMD takes the stage and the speaker is, as usual, no less than the company’s CEO, Lisa Su.

The company’s press release stated that one of the focus areas will be “High-Performance Computing”, which in the AMD context is often synonymous with processors. Pre-tipped here, AMD will announce the first details of the Ryzen Threadripper 5000 series “Chagall”, which takes the step over to the architecture Zen 3 for the up to 64 cores and 128 threads.

AMD has also flagged for news in graphics cards for enthusiasts and gamers. AMD has already promised to launch a Radeon RX 6000 series for laptops this summer and it is therefore no big deal that the formal unveiling will take place on Computex 2021. While it can not be ruled out, few believe that there will be any new graphics cards for desktops.
