AMD launches game packages with Radeon R9 290X and Battlefield 4

Anyone who plans to buy a Radeon R9 290X and get Battlefield 4 on the purchase will have to hold out for a while longer. At GPU Tech Day, AMD revealed that a special edition with the new flagship will be available for pre-booking already this week, but now it looks like the plans are being put on hold.

Sources for SweClockers state that there will be no game package with Radeon R9 290X and Battlefield 4 on October 3. Retailers have been informed not to start accepting pre-bookings on this date and no other date for when the offer can start has yet been announced.

Battlefield 4 will begin beta testing at the turn of the month and the launch date for the game has long been nailed to October 29. Thus, it may indicate that the Radeon R9 290X is in fact delayed and does not have time before Battlefield 4 appears on store shelves.

Another possible explanation is that the availability of the graphics card is limited and that AMD therefore does not launch any campaign with Swedish resellers, but first and foremost prioritizes other markets.
