AMD “Navi” with RDNA and ray tracing will be shown during CES 2020

Next year’s edition of the CES trade fair is fast approaching. Between January 7-10, a huge number of companies are showing new technology, and one of these is AMD. According to the Chiphell profile Wjm47196, which has hit right with a number of upcoming product launches in the past, AMD is offering a number of innovations during the trade show, including the next step for the Radeon DNA (RDNA) graphics architecture.

According to the information, AMD plans to unveil a preview of new graphics cards with the next generation RDNA. These graphics cards will be aimed at the enthusiast market and manufactured using the refined manufacturing technology 7nm +. The data also strengthens previous reports that have claimed that the updated architecture offers support for ray tracing at the hardware level.

Furthermore, that architecture is stated to be more energy efficient than the first generation RDNA that forms the basis of the Radeon RX 5000 series. The information lists the architecture as RDNA 2, but since the next generation of game consoles has been confirmed with support for hardware-based support for ray tracing it can also be about upgraded variants of generation one.
