Earlier this year, there was talk of a Radeon RX 6900 XTX with really high clock speeds and with which AMD would take up the fight against Nvidia in the top segment. As rumors crystallized into highly credible information, the model was officially launched, but then in the form of RX 6900 XT Liquid Cooled which was only sold to system builders.
Now publish the Twitter profile @CyberCatPunk a photograph from a presentation that specifically mentions the Radeon RX 6900 XTX and below it has the text “Expanding the AMD RDNA Family”. Not only that, the same presentation also shows details that reveal the specified turbo frequency for the graphics circuit itself and the speed of the GDDR6 memory.

With a theoretical computing power of 24.93 TFLOPS, the Radeon RX 6900 XTX is very close to the water-cooled sibling RX 6900 XT Liquid Cooled at 24.82 TFLOPS. Depending on how AMD has chosen to round it off, it corresponds to a clock frequency of 2,434–2,435 MHz, which is 8.2 percent higher than for the regular RX 6900 XT. On the memory front, the effective clock frequency increases by 12.5 percent, from 16,000 to 18,000 MHz, for a bandwidth of 576 GB / s.
The graphics circuit used is the same as the Radeon RX 6800, RX 6800 XT and RX 6900 XT – Navi 21. Since AMD already uses the full-scale circuit with 5,120 stream processors, the new one with the RX 6900 XTX is precisely the higher clock frequencies, something AMD achieves by significantly harder binning where the best circuits are hand-picked.
It is not clear when the Radeon RX 6900 XTX will see the light of day, nor to what extent, where it is possible that this graphics card will also be an exclusive system builder. However, it should not be ruled out that it will reach the retail trade to counter Nvidia, which is believed to launch Super variants of the Geforce RTX 3000 series later in the year.
