AMD Radeon RX Vega 64 and RX Vega 56

With Ryzen Threadripper, AMD returned to the so-called HEDT segment for processors, where they have been absent for more than a decade. However, the processor market is not the only one where the company is happy with its absence for performance hunters. Even when it comes to graphics cards, AMD has more or less handed over the segment to Nvidia.

With the Polaris-based graphics card families Radeon RX 400 and RX 500, AMD did not even try to reach the top of the performance, but instead aimed to offer good value to the middle segment. Nvidia’s top models Geforce GTX 1080 and Geforce GTX 1080 Ti have thus been allowed to rule undisturbed since the introduction in 2016 and 2017, respectively.

AMD has long enticed that the next generation of graphics architecture, Vega, will bring a long-awaited return to greatness. The long wait is now over and the new generation Radeon RX Vega 64 and RX Vega 56 have found their way into SweClocker’s test lab. Time to see if Nvidia has reason to look over their shoulder with a worried look!
