AMD releases Catalyst 15.5 Beta for The Witcher 3 and Project Cars

This is how AMD’s development of new drivers works. However, it is not the software itself that makes Radeon owners’ feelings swell, but the fact that AMD does not seem to have time to develop new versions at the same pace as the competitor Nvidia. Now, however, a new driver is released for a couple of this spring’s most acclaimed game titles.

The new driver Catalyst 15.5 Beta contains exclusively news for those who play The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt or Project Cars with Radeon R9 or R7, which indicates that the new software is mainly intended for the latest generation graphics cards in the Radeon 200 series.

The promise is up to 10 and 17 percent better performance in The Witcher 3 and Project Cars with a single graphics processor. Anyone who uses multiple graphics cards in Crossfire can also take part in a new profile for The Witcher 3.

However, AMD advises all Crossfire users to disable anti-aliasing in the game settings for post-processing and warns that fluttering image problems may occur. The message is that those affected by the latter should stay with a single graphics card until new updates arrive.

A similar problem is also found in Project Cars, where AMD advises Crossfire users not to choose the DS2M anti-aliasing as it can cause graphics errors. For the time being, the solution to the problem is to switch to another anti-aliasing method instead.

Catalyst 15.5 Beta is compatible with Windows 7 and later in 32- and 64-bit editions. The software can normally be downloaded from AMD’s website.
