This spring, the worsting model Geforce GTX Titan X was introduced with the mythical graphics processor GM200. On paper, the circuit is the most lavish to date, which was also reflected in SweClocker’s test lab when the Titan X was crowned the world’s fastest graphics card with a single graphics processor.
However, the performance is only within reach for the vanishingly small group of enthusiasts who can imagine paying SEK 11,000 for a graphics card. Nvidia is of course highly aware of this and now chooses to launch the very similar Geforce GTX 980 Ti, which with a slightly cut-down graphics processor and half as much memory will take the GM200 to a much lower price range.
Is the Geforce GTX 980 Ti a sensible compromise and an actual alternative to the fleshier Geforce GTX Titan X? The answer is in SweClocker’s test lab!
