AMD Ryzen 7 4700G: first technical details of the APU

AMD could be very close to the launch of the new generation of Desktop APU Ryzen 4000, solutions that, unlike the mobile versions Ryzen 4000 H / U announced in March, will guarantee superior performance, obviously helped by a higher TDP and consequently with higher clock frequencies.

To suggest the arrival of the first 7nm Ryzen 4000 APUs is a photo published by videocardz which, following an important leak of igorslab (link in the STREET), shows the first image of the Ryzen 7 4700G; in fact the model in question is initialed 100-000000146, a serial that perfectly matches the information leaked by igorslab.

Having said that, the Ryzen 7 4700G it will be an APU of the Renoir family, a chip octa-core with SMT support and a total of 16 logical cores. This is a clear leap forward from the previous Picasso generation (Zen + at 12nm) which offers the Ryzen 5 3400G (4 cores / 8 threads) as the top model.

This APU is likely to have a 65 watt TDP while for frequencies we speak of a base of 3.6 GHz with Boost at 4.35 / 4.4 GHz (Ryzen 5 3400G stops at 3.7 / 4.2 GHz). On board we will find one iGPU Radeon Vega with eight Compute Units and frequency up to 2.1 GHz. Also in this case the frequency is much higher than the previous version, however this feature could be linked to the lower power of the GPU which, in the Ryzen 5 3400G model, instead provides an 11 Radeon Vega Compute Unit.

These are the first details at the moment, certainly these are very interesting products, especially if we consider the performance of the models Ryzen 3000 presented in 2019 which, as you will remember, do not have an integrated GPU.
