When AMD presents the report for the third quarter of the year, it is clear that the company’s figures are consistently positive. Revenue for the period is $ 1.64 billion, an increase of 25 percent compared to the same period last year. At the same time, operating profit continues to climb, from 25 million last quarter to 126 million.

Furthermore, AMD makes a net profit of 71 million and the gross margin continues to climb slowly upwards, to now be 35 percent. The division makes a strong contribution to the positive figures Computing and Graphics with revenues of 819 million, up as much as 74 percent compared to last year.

The massive increase on an annual basis is attributed to the Ryzen processor family, where both higher volumes and the average sales price (ASP) have pushed. The company’s Radeon graphics card has also been a contributor, which probably means that the mining of cryptocurrencies is still highly topical.

Divisions Enterprise, Embedded, and Semi-Custom withdrew 824 million, about the same as last year. According to the company, the sale of the server processors Epyc and license agreements have compensated for a loss in deliveries of customized circuits, which include Sony Playstation 4 and Microsoft Xbox One.

Looking at the fourth quarter of the year, AMD expects revenue to fall by around 15 percent (plus-minus 3 percentage points), which would, however, mean an increase of 26 percent on an annual basis. For the full year, AMD expects 20 percent higher revenues compared to 2016.
