An LNG terminal opened off the coast of the Netherlands on Thursday

PRAGUE, 8 you — PRIME. A terminal for liquefied natural gas (LNG) was opened off the coast of the Netherlands, near the city of Eemshaven, on Thursday, a third of the volume of which was won by the Czech company ČEZ in a tender held in the summer, according to CNN Prima NEWS.

The EU did not rule out a recession in the eurozone due to high gas prices

The terminal consists of two interconnected vessels, its total annual volume is 8 billion cubic meters of gas. The first delivery of LNG from the US to the Czech Republic is expected on 19 September.

“With the help of this terminal, we are taking a significant step towards freeing ourselves from our current dependence on the import of raw materials from the Russian Federation,” said Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala, speaking at the grand opening of the LNG terminal. According to him, the terminal is an example of successful European cooperation.
