Asus announces ROG Strix RX Vega 64 and RX Vega 56

Earlier in August, AMD launched its new Vega graphics architecture with associated models RX Vega 56 and Vega 64. Despite relatively good performance, the cards were criticized for high noise levels and high power consumption, something that many hope can be improved with models from third-party manufacturers.

Asus is now announcing its own version of the two graphics cards, which are equipped with the company’s ROG Strix cooler. For Vega 56, it is a graphics card that is similar to the reference model from AMD, with identical clock frequencies and power supply via two 8-pin PCI Express connectors.

The Radeon RX Vega 64 model is launched in two variants, one of which comes with slightly increased clock frequencies. However, Asus has not announced any exact clock frequencies, but according to the company these should be in the vicinity of the water-cooled RX Vega 64 model from AMD.

An exact launch date has not yet been set, but the Asus ROG Strix RX Vega 64 and RX Vega 56 are expected to appear in early September. What the price for these will be is currently unknown.
