Nvidia releases Geforce driver for Destiny 2

Bungie’s online game Destiny has acted as one of the major exclusive titles for the current generation of game consoles, where a PC / Windows version never saw the light of day. That changes with the sequel Destiny 2, where full support for all platforms has been announced and an open beta test for PC is on the doorstep.

Nvidia has previously been able to show a trailer for the game where 4K resolution and 60 frames per second were at the center. Now it is followed by an official announcement of a Game-Ready driver for the game, which will offer an optimal experience during the open beta of the game on the PC platform.

With a compatible TV or monitor, HDR enables higher peak brightness for stunning, vivid visuals, with bold saturated colors; tremendous contrast for richer, more natural dark scenes; and a wide gamut of colors close to what you experience on the highest-quality digital cinema screens.

It is the result of a close collaboration between Bungie and Nvidia, where HDR and SLI support for the game is in the spotlight and should be fully available during the beta. In connection with the announcement, it is also clarified that the company’s package will again be available until 5 September, consisting of a Geforce GTX 1080 or 1080 Ti paired with the game.

The new driver will be available on Nvidia’s website starting August 24. In other words, in good time before the gates open to the closed beta test on 28 August for those who pre-ordered, and then open to the public on 29 August.

The sharp launch of Destiny 2 for PC / Windows will take place on October 24, while for Xbox One and Playstation 4 it will be released on September 6.
