Asus makes custom-made Radeon RX 6900 XT – costs over SEK 15,000

On December 8 at 15:00 this afternoon, AMD launches its flagship Radeon RX 6900 XT, which the company believes will challenge Nvidia at the top. When the graphics card was first unveiled, information quickly began circulating that AMD would not allow partner cards. Over time, however, there have been increasing indications that this will not be the case.

That there will be partner-made models is confirmed with all the desired clarity by Asus, which uncovers just such. The model is called Radeon RX 6900 XT TUF Gaming and is delivered as usual with a solid cooling solution, which like other flagships today takes up three expansion slots. The radiator’s three fans are semi-passive and stop spinning when the graphics circuit is below 55 ° C.

Asus equips the graphics card with two 8-pin PCI Express connectors, ie the same number as in AMD’s reference design. The company does not go into any details about specifications such as clock frequencies, but the box in the picture shows that it is factory overclocked. In the reference version, the RX 6900 XT has a maximum clock frequency of 2,250 MHz.

According to information to SweClockers, the start of sales will be delayed until sometime after AMD’s launch of the Radeon RX 6900 XT in reference version. The Swedish price tag for Asus’ own RX 6900 XT TUF Gaming is north of SEK 15,000 – well above AMD’s recommended USD 999, which with today’s exchange rate and VAT corresponds to SEK 10,500.
