Asus presents extra short Geforce GTX 670 DirectCU Mini

Powerful components no longer require a giant box. Thanks to the emergence of the form factor Mini ITX, it is possible to squeeze most and a little more even into small computer boxes. Asus catches on to the trend and gives a taste of an upcoming Geforce GTX 670 for compact computer systems.

The new graphics card is called Asus Geforce GTX 670 DirectCU Mini and just as the name suggests, it is an extra small model. The circuit board measures only 17 centimeters, about a decimeter shorter than normal and suitably as wide as a motherboard in Mini ITX size.

The graphics card is based on Nvidia’s now well-known circuit GK104 with 1,344 CUDA cores, 256-bit memory bus and 2 GB GDDR5 memory. For the cooling is a new variant of Asus DirectCU with steam chamber and fan. In addition, a single 8-pin connector for the power supply and outputs for two DVIs, an HDMI and Displayport can be seen.

Asus is still silent about the details but announces that the graphics card will be released in April or May. Some price information is not yet known.
