Asus shows the ROG Matrix GTX 780 Ti and R9 290X

Following the launches of the Radeon R9 290X and Geforce GTX 780 Ti, partner manufacturers continue to release their own variants of AMD and Nvidia’s latest flagships, respectively. Now the Taiwanese component giant Asus presents two newcomers in the model series ROG Matrix specially designed for overclockers and performance hunters.

The slide show above shows the Asus ROG Matrix GTX 780 Ti and ROG Matrix R9 290X with the now well-known graphics processors Nvidia GK110 and AMD Hawaii XT respectively. However, this is hardly about any reference designs, but about tailor-made circuit boards with lavish features.

First and foremost, the newcomers are equipped with the Matrix cooler, which includes a black anodised heat sink with five heat conduction pipes and two fans, one of which is of the Cooltech model. The radiator is protected by a metal plate and this also applies to the back of the circuit board.

Asus does not reveal any specifications, but the pictures show that the models are equipped with 14-phase voltage regulation and power supply with two 8-pin PCI Express connectors. There are also switches that put the graphics card in a special position for cooling with liquid nitrogen (LN2).

The new graphics cards in the Asus ROG Matrix series will be on the market “soon”. However, prices and launch dates are not yet known.
