Asus updates the DirectCu II graphics card cooler

The reference models may be suitable for most things, but for those who have higher requirements for cooling capacity and sound level, there are a number of other alternatives on the market. Asus’ custom graphics cards with the DirectCu II cooler are among the most popular and an updated variant for the wide middle class will be released soon.

The new Asus DirectCu II is endowed with larger flanges and more powerful heat pipes with a thickness of eight millimeters, three in number and visible from the outside. Two of the tubes are s-shaped and run through both sides of the base plate. On the top of the construction you can see two 80 mm fans and a themed shell with red accents.

The new graphics card cooler takes up an extra slot and will primarily be used for the Asus Radeon HD 7870 DCII Top V2 (pictured), but will also find more models in the middle class in the future. The three-slot solutions continue to be reserved for the most expensive graphics cards in the Asus range.
