You don’t need a PC to do many of the things that were previously done through a computer. Today Android devices are so powerful that they even give us the ability to change the format of audio and video files on the same mobile, and do without a PC for it. Converting an audio or video file is easy with Format Factory. Click on the “+” button at the top and choose “Video” or “Audio”, depending on what you want to convert. In the file explorer you can choose the audio or video you want to convert. Finally choose one of the multiple options that you can see below.
Format Factory (v5.46) permite convert a video to another format or extension, trim fragments of the video (as beginning or end), extract the audio in MP3 format, extract part of video as GIF, add audio to it, invert the video and that play backwards or from end to beginning, etc.

With the app you can cut the video, so that certain things do not appear, such as watermarks or people. You simply have to adjust the square to the area that you want to cut. Unfortunately, it didn’t work properly at least once. I’m not sure if the length of the video played a role.
As you can see, for the video conversion you have several values that you can change. If you are confused, keep in mind that the lower the value of the parameters Size and resolution, Fps and Bit rate, the smaller size and quality the video will have and vice versa.
Instead of adjusting each parameter individually, you have the possibility to choose a “Preset” setting, which is nothing more than a video format with predefined parameters. One of them can be selected depending on where the resulting video is to be played. There are many options available like Android (MP4, H264, 3G2, ASF), only audio, AVI, DVD, FLV, iPad, iPod, MP4, MPEG1, MPEG2, PS3 y WMV. Several of these “presets” are available in high, medium, and low quality.
The downside of Format Factory is that some High resolution qualities are restricted to the paid version or “premium” of the app, whose cost is 4 dollars, as well as the function of add watermark to videos.
For the audio conversion we do not find many options or formats. As you can see, just like video conversion, here you can also configure all aspects of the audio in an advanced way, such as frequency, channel, bitrate Y trim audio. For frequency and bitrate, as a general rule, the lower the value of these parameters, the size of the resulting file will be smaller, but also of lower quality.
The codecs supported by this application (the types of files it can be converted to) are MP3, ACC, MP2, WMA, FLAC, M4A y OGG.
The application also allows you to edit the metadata of a file. So you can add a cover, artist or album to your songs, for example.
The converted files are saved in the internal memory, “Keerby” folder.
Keep in mind that file conversion can slow down the cell phone due to high CPU usage. If the cell phone locks, you can let it finish the conversion, although you could use other apps perfectly during the process.
Format Factory is an application sufficient to convert audio, music or small videos, and even edit them in a basic way, making cuts or lowering their quality to make them smaller and easier to share.
It is not ideal for converting large files, because the cell phone can take too long to do so. Also some high qualities are restricted to the Premium version. It also doesn’t have many codecs available. If you have an unsupported video or audio file, I recommend using the application File Converter that converts in the cloud, so it should not slow down your cell phone, or its web version online-convert.com. Other recommended file conversion apps are Timbre e InShot.
Finally, every time you convert a file you will have to see full screen advertising in its free version, which is fine.
