Azerbaijan vows to support construction of Trans-Caspian pipeline
BAKU, 3 Sep – PRIME. If Ashgabat decides to lay the Trans-Caspian pipeline, Baku will support this initiative, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said.
Azerbaijan plans to double capacity of gas pipelines to Europe
“If the government of Turkmenistan decides to build a Trans-Caspian pipeline, it will be their decision. If they make such a decision, then we will, of course, support them,” he told the Italian newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore.
According to Aliyev, the project has been discussed for many years. At the same time, the President stressed, the idea of building this pipeline does not belong to Azerbaijan, it relies on the resources of Turkmenistan.
