Biden made a statement on Russia, Ukraine and inflation

MOSCOW, 19 Sep — PRIME. US President Joe Biden said that Russia will not be able to change US policy towards Ukraine with the help of energy.

“We in the US are in much better shape than anyone else, especially Russia, but he (Russian President Vladimir Putin) has been trying to achieve this for some time. He will not succeed,” Biden said in an interview with CBS.

The US president also promised that his administration will be able to curb inflation and rising energy prices, record for decades, stressing that he is more optimistic about this than ever.

“I say to American citizens: we will take inflation under control … The same applies to energy prices – they will become lower. And I am now more optimistic than ever,” the head of state said in an interview with CBS, which was broadcast on Sunday.

The United States under the Biden administration faced inflation at a record high in the last 40 years, as well as rising energy prices, which also reached record levels during the year and a half of the Biden presidency. Both of these factors provoked a sharp drop in the rating of the head of state.
