Bitcoin (BTC) Miners Continue to Steal Electricity from the State

The Russian Police smashed a Bitcoin (BTC) mining gang that stole about $ 200,000 in electricity each month from the state. All crypto assets that were illegally produced and captured were liquidated on the stock exchanges.

According to the statement released by the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, criminals secretly connected their mining equipment to the electricity grid in eight different parts of the country. The locations where mining activities were carried out were identified as abandoned poultry houses, animal shelters, abandoned factories and residences.

The Russian National Guards seized 1,500 mining equipment, 2 million rubles, and electric meters played in the operation. Police also obtained evidence of the crimes committed from the captured smartphones.

As we all know, the biggest expense of Bitcoin miners is the cost of electricity. Therefore, some miners aim to get rid of this cost by illegal ways. Recently, it was determined that a miner in Ukraine has secretly installed 100 miner equipment in the railways company.
