Bitcoin.com will launch BCH futures on its exchange

Bitcoin.com is gearing up to launch futures contracts for Bitcoin Cash (BCH), the fourth largest cryptocurrency in the world by market capitalization.

David Shin, head of the recently launched Bitcoin.com exchange, said the company is already in talks to add a derivative BCH product to a site regulated by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).

“We will try to add futures to the listing on one of the exchanges regulated by the CFTC to get a product that can be sold in the US to institutional traders,” said Shin.

This move aims to make BCH the second or third largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization “within a year,” he said. Shin also noted:

“To move from fourth to second or third, we must first increase the volume.”

Shin added that he “would like to talk to CME about listing futures on the BCH.” Note that the Chicago Mercantile Exchange CME has been offering bitcoin futures contracts since 2017.
